Our team needed a way to preview our templates quickly on at least 5 major email clients and with various screen widths. This was extremely difficult to manage as you all know, prior to Litmus builder/previews. (I still have 8 different email accounts I use to direct my junk mail, that used to be for testing)
I learned about litmus back in the days when responsive design was a buzz word, and I was jerry-rigging media queries and fluid design methods...and strategically ignoring gmail optimization for sake of sanity; 'graceful degradation' would be the polite term.
I showed my boss a 30 second demo of Litmus, and she immediately approved.
It has since saved us countless hours of building and testing - and we are watching for a future ESP integration with Limtus & Marketo to help save even more hours on sending.
I thought I would share this email that came about due to a glitch in our ESP.
An event invite went out to each of our 200k records 19 times within the course of an hour. I managed to respond with an apology haiku that gathered a tremendous amount of social media buzz and we ended up increasing event registration by 20% compared to years prior. Some people who didn't have us on their radar at all, ended up enrolling into our full time program - though hopefully it wasn't just this email that convinced them.
We didn't try to push any call to action, since they received 19 of those already, and we didn't need to decorate it with html...we just wanted them to hear our apology.
