It appears that the issue is fixed for our template as well. I need to conduct a few more tests to confirm but this last Sunday's mailing rendered correctly. If this next week's mailing renders the same then I will discontinue looking into this issue.
We are also experiencing an issue with extra space below a component when it resizes to mobile. We are seeing it on the Samsung Galaxy S8+. I have tried setting an explicit height (in pixels) to restrict the extra space on the <td> that wraps the content but to no avail. It is adding what appears to be about 300px of extra space below the image. It is only happening when I resize a component for mobile. And it is driving me bonkers too.
Seems like the wrong weekend to roll out a change like this. Biggest shopping weekend of the year and BILLIONS of branded emails going out with multiple copyright and trademark symbols peppered throughout the body copy. Ugh! I took a look at the code in Gmail's Inbox and those symbols are getting replaced by images with inherent display:block; styles applied.
I am seeing the same with TM. Both ™ and &trade are doing it (minus the semicolon at the end of these so it doesn't display superscript TM in this thread). Wasn't like this before. (grumble grumble). I assume a fix should be coming? I wouldn't want to roll out a global change to our templates if this will be fixed soon.
