Was excited when BIMI came out, as it could be used as leverage to get folks in domain-aligned for DMARC. With the entry of Gmail Annotations, less interested now. With Gmail @ 40-60% of B2C lists, and Yahoo (Verizon Mail? Ver-hoo-ol?) at 5-10%, can’t justify the effort right now. But if Verizon gets Yahoo and AOL using it… might update the calculus.
After trying a few CSS work-arounds, I went with adding ‌ in the words "join" and "meet" in our content, and that seems to safely removed the auto-linking.
This Outlook auto-linking does not render in Litmus tests.
There are six Outlook Add-ins on by default (Boomerang, PayPal, Yelp, Uber Ride Reminder, Evernote, and Wunderlist). I suspect some of these generate a similar pop-up with the correct phrase/wording.
