There's been a fair amount of chatter around BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) recently. For those not familiar, BIMI is a new standards proposal that allows email marketers to specify a logo to be displayed alongside messages in the inbox. Perhaps more importantly, it helps authenticate messages for better deliverability and to help build trust with subscribers.

Is this just a fad or a valuable new standard that all email marketers should start implementing?
