Email Marketing for Boring Products
I currently work for an ecommerce company that manufactures and sells furnace filters, fridge filters, and other filters 😫 (yawnnnnn).
Our latest successful idea was a banner in promotional emails that shows users the last filter they ordered and prompting them to reorder. But I've been running out of ideas since then.
We are sending out over 1,000,000 emails every week (we've gained this large subscriber base by being a trustworthy site for years and years) and I'm worried that there's not much else I can do to differentiate or personalize our email sends. 99% of our sends now just consist of a sale image with a discount code, the banner I mentioned above, and maybe a recent blog post or two.
I'd love to talk with some other people who either feel the same way I do, have in the past, or just have great ideas to share.
