I recently had a call with an MTA & ESP where an analyst stated that opens aren't counted until a user scrolls to view the pixel. This is mind-boggling to me. I can only see this working as such if the email code somehow engineers a contextual condition, which I would think requires JavaScript, or if the viewing client behaves as such. I had assumed that as the images load into memory, the http requests are made, and the tracking pixel does its job. Thoughts?
