My client is using Blackbaud's Luminate Online and they are working on a new email template.

I am getting a lot of push back on design changes that I asked for (by my client). If anyone is familiar with Luminate, I would love to here if there are any template restrictions, in terms of responsive design?

From the staff person: "...a button is harder to fix or adjust than a text hyperlink; adding a grey divider line between the tertiary stories would make it cumbersome to add a 4th story and would make the inevitable spacing issues that arrive when adding conditional content more apparent. Suffice to say, we have to triangulate to lowest common denominator and the design has to not be aesthetically perfect so much as easy and portable."

I refuse to sacrifice design and branding, and can't believe that using Luminate means ugly and clunky emails.
