Hello Litmusers!

I've run into an issue which seems to have come up recently in both Windows 10 Mail as well as Android (Gmail) where my images (600px wide) are not filling the width of my td's (600px width) leaving an akward gap which is not very pleasing when stacked adjacent to another seciton that is in fact taking 100% width.

I've tried many combinations of styling without any luck so I'm hopping to find a solution here. My base is the following;

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
    <title>Test</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
</head>
<body bgcolor="#fff" link="#666666" style="margin: 0px;" text="#666666" vlink="#666666">
    <div style="background-color: #fff; color: #666666;" align="center">
        <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="blue">
            <tr>
                <td>
                    <img width="600" height="58" src="https://placeholdit.imgix.net/~text?txtsize=20&txt=600×58&w=600&h=58" style="border: 0; display: block;" />
                </td>
            </tr>
        </table>
    </div>
</body>
</html>

Setting min-width, width, max-width, height to auto, with and without !important tags are not helping.

Trying to effect the DPI like suggested for Outlook is not working

Trying 2x and 1x images are not giving different results

Images with even heights or odd heights are nor giving different results

Has anyone ran into this issue and found a solution? It would be greatly apperciated!
