Is the fake memo a new trend for email marketers?
In the past few months, we have gotten multiple emails from "CFO"s or "Finance Directors" who are pointing out that a sale is just too unprofitable or that the company isn't making any money. The marketers make it look like it is supposed to be an internal memo. We all know that CFOs and Finance Directors don't memo through the company's ESP, so every time we see these kinds of emails we cringe. If anything, they walk into the room of marketers and shout, "shut this thing down!"
Everytime a fake memo is sent, an angel loses its wings.
Are they successful? Are they hurting the list in the long-run? Is it a case of copy-cat syndrome?
