Email Marketing as a profession ... boom or definite bust?
I've come to realize that the email marketing profession has serious "concrete cielings" as of late. The payscale is dismal in non-porfit and most commercial ventures. I realize some still make it... but I;ve been doing this professionally for years, with huge success in terms of non-porfit giving... but the compensation isn't there... I am asked to break into digital strategy and be more web focued... and gasp social media (brings in 1/100th of email annually-- if not less!)...
So whats the deal... Glassdoor agrees. Is this a brickwall for someone in DC wanting to move to SF? I really hope I'm wrong! :-/
Thanks for your input and motivation! I know we all have multiple hats... but it seems like email wears the lesser more often. :-/
