For a long time my default technique for this was:

    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1">

However while working with ExactTarget I've found that they strip out everything outside the <body> tag. I can include styles if I keep that inside the <body>. So I'm looking for a way to do the same thing as above through CSS.

I've tried things with zoom/@viewport - but maybe it's just simply not supported.

    * {
        zoom: 1;
    }

    @-webkit-viewport {
        width: device-width;
        zoom: 1;
        min-zoom: 1;
    }

    @-viewport {
        width: device-width;
        zoom: 1;
        min-zoom: 1;
    }

    @viewport {
        width: device-width;
        zoom: 1;
        min-zoom: 1;
    }
