Question About Bulk List Consent/Permission
So I'm being asked to send a bulk email to a list of people who have NOT specifically subscribed to receive email from my company. However, these addresses are people within a number of larger organizations (school districts, for example) which have given us permission to mail their members. Is this allowed? I'm not so sure it meets the requirements for "express and verifiable permission" (as per Mailchimp TOS, our ESP in this case). But maybe it does since these organizations "own" these inboxes. Any insight here would be great!
Since your sending to individuals it's not advisable, it could also harm your IP and reputation.
How exactly did they give permission?
I tend to agree. That's something I need to investigate as well. If we were to send I would like to have some sort of written permissions from each organization.
Unless these people expressed consent and agreed to receive emails from third party companies, I would advise sending to these people. Find out how the larger organisations got permission.
