I am starting to see a few emails from retailers come to me with the From Name being Personalised. The one I see more often than others is from Photobox where they say:

Photobox for FIRST NAME

Having personalisation in the From part of the email has definitely caught my eye more than in subject lines, but is there any detrimental effect to having personalisation here?

We've started to test it and so far, testing is proving inconclusive in open rates, on personalised From name vs. the standard.

Has anyone else seen this?
