The Litmus Live Dynamic Twitter Feed Email
Hey, everyone. With the launch of last week's Email Design Conference email, we had a ton of questions about how we actually built a dynamic Twitter feed into an HTML email. Fortunately, the brains behind the email—Kevin & Kevin shared the technique in our latest blog post. Check it out here, and if anyone has any specific questions for either of them, reply down below.
Hi Jason. Thanks a lot for sharing all these details with the community. I was genuinely impressed by the cleverness of the use of an external CSS and the
content
property. Now this is definitely very hacky, and I was wondering if at an earlier stage you tried any other approach ? (and then dropped it because of poor support). For example, this made me wonder if it would be possible (and provide better support) to use an external SVG file.We didn't think to try another approach. SVG is an interesting idea -it's not something we thought to try and it's something I've not played around with much myself yet either in email.
content
just seemed like a quick and easy way to implement it.Thanks for your answer, Kevin.
