I'd been having issues with the popular min-width fix when I applied it to a new HTML email template I'd coded. I couldn't figure out, no matter what I did, why my email was breaking in Gmail - showing the zoomed in version rather than the scaled back one, despite me applying min-width to my containing tables.

I stumbled on the solution when I saw the spacer image hack for gmail.

Decided to apply the min-width on to any images in the email that were the full width, as I'm loathed to use any spacer images these days. And then cancel out the min-width in the CSS for anything that's not gmail.

And it worked! I don't know if people are still having issues, or if someone even posted about this before. But just wanted to share. In case people hadn't.
