There's been a growing body of evidence that web designers/developers are finally starting to pay attention (and even a little bit of respect!) to email. I've been asked to talk about mobile/responsive email at two web design/dev conferences this year (RWD Summit and ARTIFACT), and Litmus customer Lee Mallabone just tipped me off to this talk he gave at O'Reilly's Fluent Conference. Awesome!

Are those of you who do double-duty as email and web devs seeing a new respect for email among your peers? Any thoughts as to what might be driving their interest? I suspect that mobile (and the associated turn to CSS3/HTML/responsive) is driving much of this attitude change, but as someone whose head is completely stuck in the email sand, I really don't have much go to on.
