The Verizon Media brand announced that Yahoo! Mail, AOL, and Verizon now support one-click unsubscribe, also known as RFC8058. Previously only available in Yahoo! Mail, the one-click unsubscribe standard is now supported by all email clients that are part of the Verizon Media brand umbrella.

A little over a year after Verizon acquired AOL for $4.4 billion, the mobile communications giant has acquired Yahoo for $4.83 billion, driving further consolidation in the webmail space and setting themselves up to push harder into mobile email.
Although Verizon’s $4.4 billion purchase of AOL was all about adding more content, video, and ad generation to the mobile communication company’s distribution platform, the acquisition could transform Verizon into a major email inbox provider, likely to the benefit of email marketers.
