#LitmusGives: Introducing our October Month of Giving0
We at Litmus believe that a company’s purpose is not only its products and services, but also the greater impact it makes in the communities where it lives. For us, this means that we care about making email better, but we also care about being engaged and making a difference outside Litmus and beyond the email community. It’s even one of our core values:
Litmus Core Value #5:
Be Beyond Litmus
We’re active in our communities inside and outside Litmus. We strive to cultivate generosity, make a positive impact to those around us, care for one another, and maintain a healthy work/life balance.
In this spirit, Litmus provides Volunteer Time Off (VTO)—that’s a paid day off for employees to volunteer with an organization of their choice in their communities. As we head into the month of October, Litmus would like to spotlight this core tenant of our team values. With #LitmusGives, we’ll bring together team members in our offices for volunteering activities and show how our remote team is making a difference in their local communities all over the world.
Being Beyond Litmus is a core value for all of us. Our VTO policy encourages all of us to give back to our communities either through our global VTO day across multiple locations or throughout the year. I am proud to be a part of a team and company where this is such an important part of our culture.

#LitmusGives at Litmus Live
Plus, for the first time ever, we will be partnering with local charity organizations at our Litmus Live conferences in Boston and San Francisco. For our San Francisco conference, we will be collecting much-needed donations for Second Harvest Foodbank to support their goal of making sure that anyone who needs a healthy meal can get one.
For our Boston conference, we have our friends at Pine Street Inn joining us. The team at Pine Street Inn does an incredible job helping homeless men and women in New England with emergency services, housing, and workforce development programs. I’ve volunteered with them in the past helping with meal preparation, and I couldn’t be more excited about Litmus chipping in to support an organization that makes a big difference in our community. At Litmus Live, attendees will have the chance to learn more about the important work Pine Street Inn does—and donate if they’d like to support the cause. Plus, the email geeks at Litmus Live can help us “unlock” donations from Litmus—up to $5,000—throughout the conference on October 10th and 11th. Follow the #LitmusGives hashtag to keep up-to-date!
We encourage you—yes, you in the email community—to highlight the ways that you give back to your own communities, either through your employer or on your own. We’d love to hear your stories! We will continue to share how our employees are Being Beyond Litmus throughout Litmus’ October Month of Giving, too!
